Fundraising Intern with An Cosán
An Cosán is a community centre for learning, leadership and enterprise; where, for over 25 years more than 10,000 adults and 3,000 children have availed of education and care services.
An Cosán is a progressive, dynamic and innovative centre of Learning, Leadership and Social Enterprise which has recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary in partnership with the community of Tallaght West.
An Cosán’s activities are currently funded primarily by the State. This represents a significant dependency which An Cosán is keen to address. A long-term fundraising strategy is currently being prepared by 2into3 and will be adopted by the organisation.
To achieve both sustainability and growth, An Cosán is required to significantly expand the proportion of funds achieved from philanthropic sources. An Cosán wishes to place a new intern within the organisation with a focus on fundraising. The intern will support the work of An Cosán for a nine month period under the JobBridge scheme.
Purpose of the Role
The Fundraising Intern will, under the supervision of the CEO, co-ordinate the fundraising activities of An Cosán; from identifying and assessing sources of funding, assembling and supporting community fundraising initiatives, preparing donor requests, maintaining regular professional contact with our donors, providing progress reports to our donors and the CEO, dealing with queries accurately and promptly, organising events and undertaking other duties deemed appropriate by An Cosán.

Graduate in business or a related discipline
- High motivational level
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Analytical skills
- Strong commitment to teamwork
- Native or fluent English speaker
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to the not-for-profit sector

Corporate Fundraising Intern with DeafHear
DeafHear (formerly the National Association for Deaf People) is a registered not-for-profit charity working to improve the lives of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and their families and to support other professionals working with them. DeafHear is the National Deafness ‘Centre of Excellence’, with a network of local Resource Centres.

DeafHear activities are currently funded primarily through the HSE with some 90% of Deafhear funding provided through the HSE in 2010. This represents a significant dependency that DeafHear is keen to address. DeafHear has also identified a number of priorities for the medium to long term.
To achieve these goals DeafHear needs to significantly expand the proportion of funds achieved from philanthropic sources. A long term fundraising strategy has been prepared by 2into3 and has been adopted by the organisation.
Following the successful placement of an intern during 2011 who is now responsible for Community, Events and Online Fundraising, DeafHear wishes to place a new intern to focus on Corporate Fundraising. The intern will support the work of DeafHear for a nine month period under the JobBridge scheme.
