The Matt Talbot Community Trust
The Matt Talbot Community Trust was established in 1986 by Sr. Caoimhín Ní Uallachaín to support young men going to prison. Today, the Trust has evolved into an organisation that supports adults involved with the criminal justice system and/or in recovery from drug addiction through the provision of education and skills programmes, while also supporting the Ballyfermot community at large. The organisation also has a 5 bedroom retreat centre in Ballinascorney which serves as a rural retreat for service users of the Trust and residents of Ballyfermot and surrounding areas.
The Trust currently faces a number of challenges, including the need for increased fundraised income to further develop the education centre in Ballyfermot into a modern and quality learning environment for the programmes participants. Support is also needed to develop the Ballinascorney centre into a world class nature retreat, adventure and learning centre. To facilitate these ambitions, the Matt Talbot Community Trust is seeking to appoint a Corporate Services Manager to lead and manage all of the organisations corporate, administrative and planning functions.
Corporate Services Manager
The Corporate Services Manager will be responsible for all corporate affairs, administrative and planning functions at the Matt Talbot Community Trust. He/ she will lead the administration of the Trusts centres in Ballyfermot and Ballinascorney and for ensuring that the Trust complies with best practice in corporate governance. The Corporate Services Manager will also be responsible for capital projects, facilities management, finance, legal affairs, human resource management, IT and overseeing the Fundraising and Communications function of the organisation. The role is part-time with a pro-rata salary.
The Matt Talbot Community Trust is seeking an experienced, strategic manager with the ability to effectively manage all of the Trusts corporate and governance affairs. The post-holder will play a significant role in securing the Trusts long-term sustainability by ensuring the efficient operation of all support functions and by project managing the upcoming redevelopment of the Trusts centre in Ballyfermot. The successful candidate will have a track record of experience in senior management roles and a sound understanding of management and corporate governance within a not-for-profit context.
