2into3’s Director Dennis O’Connor featured on RTE Radio One News at One on Wednesday the 7th of December discussing charitable giving over the Christmas period. The report, by Eleanor Burnhill, noted how 2into3’s Quarterly Fundraising Monitoring Service highlighted that one third of fundraised income is raised during the Christmas period. The Charities Regulator CEO John Farrelly also featured in the report, commenting on how donors should research the charities which they are thinking of giving to and how all charities will soon be required to submit their annual accounts to the Regulator.
Some of the findings from 2into3’s Sixth Fundraising Performance Report for the Irish Not-for-Profit were also discussed by Aine Lawlor and Eleanor Blackhill. Ms. Blackhill noted that fundraised income increased by 7% from 2013 to 2014 despite charity scandals in that period. It was also noted that from the Sixth Report that Ireland’s per capita giving level is €183. News at One will be running a series of reports over the coming week on charitable fundraising activity in Ireland.
