Goal - Head of Global Fundraising and Marketing












Established in 1977, GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the poor and the vulnerable and is currently operating in 12 countries world-wide. GOAL delivers a wide range of humanitarian and development programmes, ranging from humanitarian relief in disaster situations to supporting the development of healthcare services and building sustainable livelihoods. Since its foundation, GOAL has allocated more than €910 million to humanitarian programmes in over 50 countries.

In 2016 GOAL’s total income was €162m of which fundraising was €2.6m. To significantly grow its fundraised income the organisation is seeking to appoint a Head of Global Fundraising and Marketing.


Head of Global Fundraising and Marketing

The Head of Global Fundraising and Marketing will have overall responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of GOAL’s fundraising and marketing strategies. The post-holder will ensure that fundraising targets are met across all areas and will provide leadership and support to the fundraising team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the post-holder will also serve as a member of the senior management team sharing collective responsibility with other SMT members for delivering the organisation’s strategy and vision.

The Head of Global Fundraising and Marketing will lead the team in creating a high-performing and sustainable fundraising and marketing function globally for GOAL and for ensuring its successful delivery. The post-holder will continually develop and assess GOAL’s fundraising and marketing strategies on a global level and with a view to maximising income and ROI. The post-holder will have the ability to provide strong leadership to the fundraising team and will oversee the retention and growth of GOAL’s public donor base through the development of a public donor communications plan. GOAL is seeking an exceptional and focused leader with prior senior management experience in a similar fundraising role or in senior level business development from a private sector background. The successful candidate will be able to drive the successful delivery of GOAL’s fundraising and marketing strategies at a global level and lead and support the fundraising team.
