Innovation Strategy
Social enterprises and not-for-profits are in a time of great flux. The turbulent environment is creating a growing demand for the essential services they provide—and when coupled with a reduction in government and philanthropic funding, it is very difficult to ensure that organisational capacity is running at maximum effectiveness. Though this environment can be perceived as negative, 2into3 believes there is a great opportunity to be embraced. Now is the time to forensically review the organisation, and in doing so, begin to create a culture of innovation.
A work culture that embraces and celebrates innovation in daily activities creates an exciting workplace where members perceive ownership of the core service and are confident they are enhancing the lives of their service users. Innovation maximises the effectiveness of the organisation, minimises employee turnover, attracts talent and more importantly, gains valuable public confidence.
2into3’s innovation services will enable an organisation to foster innovation in daily work practices with services that are developed around the organisation’s needs and capacity.
- The Mission, Vision and Values Workshop: The Board and Senior Management will engage in an intensive workshop, where 2into3 will audit who the service users are, what the service user’s needs are, and add the organisation's core values to create a map of where the organisation wants to go and how it is going to get there. The organisation's core beliefs will be incorporated throughout the process to provide a framework to which decisions will be made in the future. Communicating this to internal and external stakeholders will enable all members to work towards common objectives and tasks. All future programmes and services will be benchmarked against the re-established mission, vision and values.
- The Insights Workshop will allow for an “away day”. This workshop will compile detailed information on programmes and strategic goals, with all key internal and external stakeholders focusing on the service user’s quality of life – and how the programme/goal faired in terms of quality. The objective for each panel is to uncover fresh insights from both service users and staff with the aim of improving core services and programmes. The tools and skills acquired in this workshop will be used to embed a work culture of innovation.
- The Innovation Workshop will allow for an “away day”. All key internal and external stakeholders will be invited to participate in an intensive workshop where the organisation will find solutions by reviewing who it is truly serving. The workshop will bring in learnings from other sectors; identify new potential service users; source new suppliers for program implementation; and review how technology, training or new/different locations will create or update existing programmes. The tools and skills gained in this workshop will be used to embed a work culture of innovation.
- Strategic Mentoring will allow 2into3 to work closely with Board, CEO, and Senior Management teams in developing practices that promote a culture of innovation in the workplace. The aim is to enhance organisational capacity, organisational effectiveness, and public confidence in order to increase the fundraising and volunteer base.
