Research

Not-for-profit organisations and their stakeholders can benefit from the gathering, analysing and sharing of data on impact, efficiency and funding. The sector continues to suffer from a paucity of research, especially in Ireland. The establishment of the charity regulator has and will lead to a greater availability of data but it will take time and it will be constrained by accounting reporting requirements. In this context 2into3's research practice works, in partnership with sector representative organisations, on behalf of funders, on a commissioned basis or with the support of sector stakeholders to address this gap.

Currently our research practice publishes an annual report into fundraising performance supported by Ecclesiastical Insurance, an annual report on private investment in the arts on behalf of the Arts Council and occasional papers by the 2into3 team. We now offer, in partnership with Fundraising Ireland, a quarterly fundraising monitoring service for subscribing organisations.

The use of evidence in decision-making is becoming ever more important in the not-for-profit sector. 2into3 devotes a large proportion of time to conducting publicly available research in order to support the not-for-profit sector to make better informed decisions and ultimately improve the effectiveness of fundraising efforts.
