COPE Galway is a leading provider of Social Services in Galway city and county including homeless services, domestic violence services and services for older people. COPE Galway employs over 100 people across a range of service delivery and administrative roles, who are supported by a team of over 150 volunteers.

COPE Galway’s Domestic Violence service provides a 24-hour crisis accommodation for women and children experiencing domestic violence at its Waterside House refuge located in Galway City Centre. An outreach service is also provided both from the refuge and in various locations across Galway county, as well as one-to-one and group work with the children of women using the refuge and outreach services. The ultimate aim of COPE Galway’s Domestic Violence service is that women and their children can live safely in their own homes, free from violence and abuse within their relationships, and where they are supported by communities to access their rights to safety and security.

COPE Galway’s Domestic Violence services is entering into a new phase of growth and development. Work is due to commence in the coming months on the construction phase of the development of a new state of the art domestic violence refuge centre on another site in Galway City Centre and this  is scheduled to be completed in 2018. To manage the service and guide it through this period of change COPE Galway is seeking to appoint a Manager of Domestic Violence Services.

Manager Domestic Violence Services

The Manager of Domestic Violence Services will be responsible for developing and delivering COPE Galway’s Domestic Violence services to serve the needs of women and their children who experience domestic violence. The current range of services include 24/7 refuge accommodation, outreach support and childcare support.

The Manager of Domestic Violence Services will be responsible for ensuring the safety of women and children experiencing domestic violence who seek the assistance by managing and leading the service. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of safe and high standard refuge accommodation and supporting service users in issues surrounding their safety and welfare needs, in addition to further developing the Outreach Service to support women experiencing domestic violence in the community. The Manager will lead the Domestic Violence Services to ensure effectively delivery of the service.
