Educate Together

Educate Together is the patron body of the growing network of schools in Ireland that are run according to the Educate Together Charter. It is an independent NGO that runs schools that guarantee equality of access and esteem to children "irrespective of their social, cultural or religious background", are learner centred in their approach to education and are run as participatory democracies, with respectful partnership between parents, pupils and staff.

Today Educate Together operates 81 primary schools and 9 secondary schools in Ireland, as well as operating five schools in the UK. Recently, it launched a growth strategy to expand its network to 120 schools, with 50,000 pupils. Educate Together receives approximately 30% of its total related costs from the State and therefore must generate funds from independent sources to continue its work and further develop the organisation’s network of schools.
