Sports Capital Grant
Securing a Sports Capital Grant can be an essential pillar to transforming your sports club or organisation.
In previous rounds of the Sports Capital Grants Programme, (2017 and 2018) over €110 million was committed, with the majority of this going to local clubs, voluntary and community groups, local authorities, schools and Education and Training Boards (ETBs). The latest round, closed for applications on 1st March 2021, with the assessment process expected to take several months. Over €40 million of funds is allocated to this round. However, demand for these grants is high with an estimated €200 million of applications submitted.
From our experience, the successful applications that achieve their goals are the ones that are strategic and allow time to adequately prepare their application. We have helped clubs secure over €1.3m in Sports Capital Grants since 2014.
In order to assist with the needs of clubs and National Governing Bodies, 2into3 has developed services that work at a 1-to-1 or group setting as a Masterclass.
However, competition to secure a grant is now harder than ever. For example, in 2018 round of the Sports Capital Grant programme, the amount applied for by clubs was four times greater than what was awarded. A total of 2,238 sports clubs and organisations applied for a grant in the 2018 round. Based on previous evidence 20% of these will be invalid, the majority falling on avoidable mistakes. For others who wish to apply, a potential application can be hampered by capacity or lack of knowledge.
