Avoca Hockey Club is a vibrant hockey club located in south Dublin. Formed in 1895, Avoca Hockey Club is one of the oldest and biggest hockey clubs in Ireland with c. 700 members and countless volunteers. The Club has 4 Men’s and 5 Ladies’ teams competing in Irish and Leinster competitions. The Men’s 1st are also competing in the EY Irish Hockey League Division 2. Men’s and Ladies’ Vets (Masters) play in their respective Leinster leagues along with 18 Colts (U16) teams competing in Leinster Leagues and younger players taking part in blitzes. Avoca Hockey Club offers a continued source of fun and development for both children and adults. The Club is based on three different pitches in Newpark Comprehensive School, Dominican College Sion Hill and Loreto College Foxrock all in the Blackrock/Foxrock area of Dublin.
Avoca Hockey Club is a competitive and community club, affiliated with Hockey Ireland and the Leinster Hockey Association. The membership base within Avoca Hockey Club has grown substantially in recent years. To ensure the organisation continues to run in an efficient and professional manner, the Board and Executive Committee are seeking to appoint a paid Club Administrator. The Administrator will collaborate with and provide administrative support to the executive committee to ensure the organisation remains one of Ireland’s leading hockey clubs.
Club Administrator – Part Time
Avoca Hockey Club is seeking someone with strong administrative experience and an attention to detail to ensure that key organisational duties are carried out in a timely and professional manner. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate exceptional organisation skills and showcase their ability as a clear communicator.
Reporting to the Club President, the Club Administrator will have a multifaceted position within Avoca Hockey Club. Playing a key role in the practical running of the Club, the Administrator will collect and record membership subscriptions, organise club fixtures and act as “front of house” in dealing with queries from members. The Administrator will also oversee incoming/outgoing mail and help develop additional documentation as required by the Club’s Executive Committee.
This role is offered on a 2 to 3-day week equivalent basis with the option for the post-holder to work remotely. This position is competitively remunerated.
