Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national federation for the co-operative housing movement. Founded in 1973, CHI has supported the provision of homes across the country and promoted the development of affiliated local co-operative societies across Ireland. CHI currently employs over 70 staff and is responsible for the management of more than 2,500 homes. Its housing units are collectively valued at €247 million (net book value). CHI’s budgeted turnover for 2019 is approximately €18.5 million.
CHI is now seeking a Financial Accountant on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The post-holder will be responsible for the preparation of CHI’s monthly management accounts and various other key day-to-day financial functions. This role may be offered on either a 5-day or 4-day working week.
Financial Accountant (Maternity Cover)
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will ensure timely preparation of CHI’s monthly management accounts and work closely with various key stakeholders to maximize the organisation’s financial operations. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for areas such as cashflow management, accounts payable, payroll administration and will work in close collaboration with the full Finance Team.
The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional, possessing ACCA, CIMA, or ACA certification. Finance professionals with experience acquired in the not-for-profit, private or public sector are all welcome to apply.
