Merchants Quay Ireland

Merchants Quay Ireland (MQI) is a national voluntary organisation that helps people who are homeless and/or caught in addiction. MQI provides a range of services, including frontline support, pathways towards recovery and innovative responses to the issues of drug use and homelessness in Ireland. The organisation and its dedicated staff believe in a just society where no-one faces homelessness or addiction alone.

MQI works with some of the most marginalised people in Ireland and provides over 100,000 meals per year. Fundraising is the core part of MQI and is vital to ensuring that the organisation can continue to provide services to those who desperately need them. In 2017, MQI received approximately 4.44m in voluntary income (roughly 39% of its overall income). To ensure its fundraising campaigns continue to raise enough to support its mission, MQI are seeking to appoint an Individual Giving Coordinator.

Individual Giving Coordinator

The Individual Giving Coordinator will be a key member of MQI’s Fundraising & Communications Team. They will work closely with the Individual Giving Manager to implement MQI’s donor development strategy, which delivers key communications to existing and potential supports and encourages higher level giving. The Coordinator will also manage integrated direct marketing campaigns and provide guidance to MQI’s fundraising team.

MQI are seeking someone with substantial experience of fundraising, particularly direct marketing campaigns. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of donor development and have a proven track record of successfully managing projects to meet challenging deadlines. The ideal candidate will be excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships with personnel from other departments, MQI clients and suppliers.

If you have the skills and experiences needed to undertake this role and would like to make a  contribution to the lives of MQI’s service users then contact Michael Walsh in strictest confidence at or call direct on +353-1-234-3131. The closing date for applications is the 29th of March. Applications from the not-for-profit, private or public sector are welcome.
